Thank you for your testimonial. We enjoyed having you stay at Wayside and hope that you’ll come again.

There is little that we could add to the previous testimonials, which we completely agree with, other than to say that the four star rating and gold award are thoroughly deserved. We would highly recommend a stay there.

Wow – what can we say, the accommodation is wonderful, so tastefully decorated throughout and there is everything you need at Wayside. Thank you Phil and Eileen for being perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. It has been so relaxing here and having the passes for the swimming pool at Sandyballs (which we used often) and the Go New Forest Card which you can use at many shops and cafes to get discounts is an added bonus. We have been on the Open Top Bus Tour, Beaulieu, Winchester, Breamore House and Moors Valley Country Park. The weather has been perfect along with the holiday, so thank you very much from Joy, Barry and Sarah.

What a wonderful week we have had in your lovely annex, superb weather, good food, visited some lovely places but most of all you made us so welcome, felt as though we’d known you for years.
I hope we’ll be back one day. Thank you so much.

This has been our second visit here and what a wonderful experience it has been! From our warm reception on arrival from Phil and Eileen (lovely to meet you both) – to all the attention to detail inside the cottage to ensuring that we have every comfort to enhance our our stay – this has been a simply wonderful visit in every way. We leave today – feeling pampered and refreshed. Your cottage is so beautiful and so cosy and calming and comfortable to stay in – we’ve simply loved every minute of our stay and it is in large measure to your amazing hospitality Phil and Eileen – nothing is too much trouble and we can really see the care that has been invested from you both in your beautiful cottage (and beautiful surrounding gardens) to ensure your guests every comfort in every possible way. We thank you both so much and really look forward to returning again – please God in the near future. In the meantime we wish you both well and every continued success in all the wonderful things that you do.
With heartfelt appreciation and many, many thanks again.

We have had a lovely stay at Wayside. Everything about the cottage was perfect. The bike storage was particularly useful considering the weather. Despite the rain we managed to have lots of bike rides through the forest (we hired a couple of bikes from Sandy Balls), visited Moors Valley – brilliant day out. The boys made use of the swimming pool at Sandy Balls – thanks to the leisure cards. We ate out at the Foresters Arms – lovely food, and the Red Shoot, Linwood – lovely pizza!
Thank you Phil and Eileen. For a lovely stay.

Christmas 2017. Comment taken from the Visitors Book

We have had a lovely 5 days at ‘Wayside’ again – weather has been mixed but we’ve managed a good walk each day and not got too wet. Very wet and muddy underfoot but it was lovely to wake up to heavy frost 28th Dec. and the forest looked amazing. We went to Eyeworth Pond at Fritham (a favourite spot) and the pond was frozen, but all the bird feeders were topped up, so lots of little birds to watch from the car park. If you like birds there are lots to see from ‘Wayside’ . We have seen Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, Long Tailed Tits, Blue and Great Tits, Robins, Blackbirds, Wren, Goldcrests and Jays. We have even heard a Tawny Owl at night.
Thank you Phil and Eileen again for a very comfortable stay at ‘Wayside’. A very well equipped and spic and span cottage.

1st – 4th December 2017. Comment taken from the Visitors Book

We found Wayside the most thoughtfully equipped accommodation we have stayed in. It thoroughly deserves its 4 star Gold Award status! It felt less like a rented holiday property and more like being able to relax in a home from home.
We particularly appreciated the beautiful poinsettia on the table to give us a glimpse of Christmas.
With our sincere thanks to you both.

What a lovely place, peaceful and pretty. Everything here you could need very well stocked! I loved your garden and has inspired me to start on mine again. It was a shame we missed you but Steve was great and many thanks for our birthday treats, that was very kind. My mum is a ceoliac so a few gluten free places if anyone has this condition, (1) Tea Total in Lyndhurst-gluten free cream tea! Lovely scones you can take away, even asked if we wanted them still frozen. (2) Sandy Balls do a good gluten free pizza (3) 100% gluten free pub/restaurant , The Compass Inn (SO40 2HE) brilliant Sunday dinner and lovely staff.

Lovely week, great accommodation in a great location. Weather was a bit hit and miss but we didn’t mind as the house is so comfortable and well equipped. Went to Sandy Balls a couple of times our 18 month old loved the soft play. Enjoyed cake and drink in the restaurant and lunch. Fordingbridge has shops that we required, Co-op and Tesco. Had nice lunches at the Royal Oak and the Cartwheel Inn. We will be recommending Wayside to our friends and family and hope to revisit. Thank you Phil and Eileen for a lovely stay.

Another lovely relaxing holiday at Eileen and Phils’ beautiful comfortable cottage. Thank you once again (I believe this is our 9th visit and very much look forward to our 10th visit in the autumn) for making us so welcome.

  13. The Grosse Family · 30/10/2016

A very clean, cosy, comfortable and well equipped property located right next to Sandy Balls within the beautiful New Forest. What more could you wish for!

  14. Paul, Cheryl, James and Oliver · 08/04/2016

Just arrived back from a lovely and comfortable week staying at the Wayside. The friendly and helpful owners, Phil and Eileen run the cottage with obvious pride and care. Over the years, we as a family have stayed in many cottages, hotels and holiday apartments but have never stayed in a property as clean and as thoughtfully equipped as Wayside. And that is before even mentioning it’s excellent location near to Sandy Balls Holiday Park and all its facilities (but without it’s noise) and of course the reason why most of us stay at the Wayside, the beautiful New Forest and all the local and near local attractions. Phil and Eileen, thank you for a lovely week, we will be back. Highly recommended.

  15. Megan chaplin · 26/03/2016

We had a very relaxing and quiet stay in this perfect base for exploring the new forest. Our hosts were very helpful and we really appreciated those little extras particularly the parking clock – perfect for visiting Fordingbridge park. Our three year old loved the outside toys thoughtfully provided and we liked the fact she could play outside safely. There was lots to do just in that corner of the new forest particularly Moors Valley Country Park, Peppa Pig World and Bolderwood. Would definitely recommend.

This was the first time we had visited the New Forest although we have stayed in many cottages or holiday houses before, out of everywhere we have been Wayside has been by far the best and we would definitely go back. Phil and Eileen have thought of everything! We usually go with a bag packed full of all the little things you need, far too many to list, but we needn’t have bothered, they had it all! My husband said “they have obviously lived this”. They had thought of the bigger things too from parking to swimming and much more. They were so friendly and welcoming and always on hand when we needed them, although our space was still our own. They also recommended some great days out and restaurants. I worried we would struggle to fill a week with things to do with a 2 year old, but we could have easily filled two or more! A wonderful holiday and place to stay, we have already recommended to our friends and family.

This has been our second visit to Wayside and on both occasions Eileen and Phil have been very welcoming and helpful and we have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The accommodation is perfect, spotlessly clean and comfortable including the beds ,in a pleasant and quiet surrounding. Everything has been thought of eg Sky tv,free wi-fi,welcoming flowers and lots more. A big bonus is the parking clock-a very good idea for free parking in numerous car parks. The four stars does not do this accommodation justice and we were pleased to see Phil and Eileen achieve a gold award for their accommodation. Wayside is an ideal base for touring the New Forest and surrounding area. Not only is this an excellent place to stay, but Phil and Eileen go the extra mile, so we would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Wayside to any one considering a holiday in the New Forest and we ourselves would not consider staying anywhere else.

We had such a lovely stay at Wayside – perfect accommodation – so clean and comfortable and Eileen & Phil had thought of everything. We would highly recommend it to anyone. From the New Forest to Poole and everywhere in between and back to our homely base – lovely! The parking clock was a real bonus too.
Looking forward to our next visit.

We have just returned from our second visit to Wayside. Its position is ideal for visiting the New Forest. Its also a short drive to the beaches near Christchurch. The accommodation is extremely well presented, clean, comfortable and short of nothing, very worthy of its 4 stars rating. Even though the accommodation is attached to the owners property it is very private. Eileen and Phil make you feel very welcome. The car parking clock was well used during our visit, many thanks. We hope to return again and would highly recommend Wayside to anyone visiting the New Forest.

  20. The Anderson Family · 05/07/2014

We stayed at Wayside in June and would definitely consider returning. The accommodation was very clean and modern and had all the facilities we could ask for. The location offered convenient access to the new forest and coast. Whilst the complimentary passes to the sandy balls resort meant the kids could be easily entertained.

  21. Kam, Silvi, Alina and Nayla · 03/12/2013

We stayed at Wayside for a weekend. We had a very lovely and considerate welcome (milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, flowers), the property was impeccably clean, everything was modern and in excellent condition and it was equipped to a high standard (including an ipod dock, a large range of quality kitchen goods and even a free re-useable car-parking ticket for the New Forest). If you are considering staying in the New Forest we highly recommend the Wayside, we will definitely be staying here again.

  22. julie weller · 25/11/2013

I stayed at Wayside with my sister and my mum for three nights. It was so relaxing we wished we were there for a week….so home from home. Had everything you could wish for. The restaurant in Sandy balls was lovely and the staff so friendly. Will definitely use Wayside again and recommend to family and friends.

  23. Rod Walker · 04/11/2013

Just returned from a fabulous half term break @ Wayside. Probably the best equipped and certainly the cleanest property we have had the pleasure of holidaying in. Great location, a perfect base to explore the New Forest. Heartily recommend you consider staying here when visiting the area. Thank you again to Phil and Eileen.

  24. Shirley & Ian Shepherd · 20/10/2013

Just back from another lovely holiday staying at Wayside. Superb accomodation – spotless and every thing you could wish for is supplied. Lovely location for exploring the Forest and surrounding area and attractions. Eileen & Phil – it’s always such a pleasure to spend time in your lovely cottage with so much help and advice from you both but never intrusive. Thank you. See you again next year!!

In a beautiful location on the edge new forest, in the village of Godshill, Wayside provides the ideal holiday hideaway and remote retreat for anyone looking to visit the new forest area. Every aspect of our stay was superbly catered for with everything we could possibly need, including a half dozen of the best eggs you’ve ever tasted courtesy of Phil’s own hens. Phil and Eileen’s care and devotion to every detail shines through and ensures that Wayside and its guests are looked after to the highest of standards. To anyone thinking of staying around new forest area we would sincerely recommend Wayside to you. You won’t be disappointed.

  26. Harrod & Judith Stokes (no relation) · 24/09/2013

The most complete property we have ever stayed in. Beautifully clean with just about everything supplied. Phil and Eileen are always available, but only if you want, they do not interfere at all. They can be very proud of the efforts they have put in, the result is first class, and will be recommended to everyone.

  27. Emma and Vincent Holliday · 19/09/2013

We had a wonderful stay at Wayside with our two children aged 1yr old & 3yrs old. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciated all the effort that went into making our stay so pleasant. We had fresh flowers on the table to welcome us and a tea tray set with our favourite biscuits & tea with a complimentary pint of milk in the fridge. There were dishwashing tablets, washing powder, washing up liquid, bin bags and fresh tea towels available. Phil & Eileen were both very thoughtful. They even gave us fresh tomatoes from their garden. The accommodation was modern, attractive and very clean. The location was perfect. We felt safe and secure and all the attractions of the New Forest were on our doorstep which we took full advantage of- including the swimming pool at Sandy balls which we visited twice with our children and used the indoor soft play area. It was a great find and we would be happy to recommend it to all our family and friends. We hope to come back sometime in the future.

  28. David and Christine Bingley · 16/09/2013

We found Wayside a good base to see the New Forest. The accommodation is excellent with everything provided that you need for your stay and it is immaculately clean. Eileen and Phil are very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if we visit the area again would not hesitate to stay at Wayside.

  29. Alison & Chris Lockyer · 10/09/2013

We have stayed at Wayside 4 times now. Each time has been brilliant. It’s location makes it an ideal base for holidays. You can get to the coast easily or if you fancy the forest it’s on your door step. It’s a home from home & fully equipped. Eileen & Phil are wonderful hosts. We were down in June this year with our granddaughter, we all had a great time.
